2 4 Ohm Dvc To 2 Ohm Mono Amp
I had an installer installed my 2 4ohm dvc jl 10w6v3 that were already wired to 2 ohms from the factory to my mono amp by running 2 negs and 2 pos from the amp directly to the terminals on the box.
2 4 ohm dvc to 2 ohm mono amp. Connect the the svc woofer in parallel with the other two. Connect each dvc woofers terminals in series so they present 8 ohms. How to tune amplifier and set amp gain by ear properly duration. The amp has to be rated as stable into a 1 ohm mono channel.
When i asked if this was correct his statement was that amp would drop the load to 1 ohm inside. For a 4 ohm load wire each sub s coils in series and wire the two together in parallel. I know the 2 ohm dvc can run 1 ohm or 4 ohm and the svc 4 can stay at 4 ohm. What would the final load be if connected together.
2 of those 4ohm subs wired in parallel will present a 2 ohm load to that amp or in series will present an 8ohm load to the amp br that amp specifies it s power output for a given load so if you present a 2ohm load it states 1kw. With two dvc 4 ohm subs you can have either a 1 ohm load or a 4 ohm load. Soundstream diamond and us amps have them i know of. There are probably others as well.
Anyway to wire these up together on a mono amp. Connect the dvc woofers in parallel so they present 4 ohms. Amp can run 4 ohm 2 ohm and 1 ohm stable.
